Spectators: 7471 (Terracing: 5604, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nichifor Bojonca took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 9th minute Cosmin Tomoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Ştefoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Pietroasele CF. Valer Țâpu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Basarab Ştefoi. 1-0. Basarab Ştefoi made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Lucrețiu Vâlcu sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in OTELUL GALATI's zone, Lucrețiu Vâlcu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basarab Ştefoi came out of the goal and Lucrețiu Vâlcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucrețiu Vâlcu struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Basarab Ştefoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pietroasele CF. Cosmin Tomoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Basarab Ştefoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lucrețiu Vâlcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32nd minute, Edgar Roşculeţ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nichifor Bojonca came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the OTELUL GALATI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nichifor Bojonca couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pietroasele CF's Tudor Aanicăi got a free kick in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Cosmin Tomoiu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Basarab Ştefoi. Cosmin Tomoiu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Basarab Ştefoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosmin Tomoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Cristian Bâru helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pietroasele CF's Cristian Bâru got a free kick in the 78th minute. Basarab Ştefoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Bâru went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Basarab Ştefoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Bâru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Bâru in the 96th minute of play forced OTELUL GALATI's goalkeeper Basarab Ştefoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silviu Babarada during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Silviu Babarada kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. In the 98th minute Lucrețiu Vâlcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Ştefoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
