Spectators: 7538 (Terracing: 5655, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) Sumugiu's Mugurel Frențiu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 12 minutes into the game, Mihai Isopescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Petru Rainea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 18 minutes into the match, Martin Corbea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Petru Rainea. Sumugiu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Corbea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When Martin Corbea came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Ponoreni SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Corbea couldn't finish the play. Ponoreni SC's Emanuel Şoimu got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tudor Doicaru scored 1-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nichifor Adomniței, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Martin Corbea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sumugiu booed when Ponoreni SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stelian Zbârciog didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nichifor Adomniței showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mugurel Frențiu in the 41st minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mihai Isopescu to strike the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Ponoreni SC's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Doicaru came free, but Nichifor Adomniței reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihai Isopescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Petru Rainea having to make a save. In the 73rd minute, Mihai Isopescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Petru Rainea. The goal made the score 1-5. If Martin Corbea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ponoreni SC's zone, Mugurel Frențiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nichifor Adomniței came out of the goal and Mugurel Frențiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, Martin Corbea notched a goal, 1-6, to the right of Sumugiu's Petru Rainea. Petru Rainea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Martin Corbea struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Petru Rainea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponoreni SC. The Sumugiu supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ponoreni SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Ponoreni SC.
