Mihai Isopescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Berevoescu having to interfere. The supporters of Setu AC booed when Ponoreni SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stelian Zbârciog didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augustin Vaştag kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Mihai Isopescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Virgil Berevoescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Corbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Berevoescu having to interfere. Virgil Berevoescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponoreni SC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Corbea got free with Virgil Berevoescu in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mihai Isopescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Berevoescu having to interfere. Nichifor Adomniței took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavril Şimoc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgil Berevoescu made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Leontin Ghiorman sent off a good shot on target. Silviu Onuț kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. If Martin Corbea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihai Isopescu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Virgil Berevoescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Mihai Isopescu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 77th minute. When Gavril Şimoc came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Setu AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavril Şimoc couldn't finish the play. Virgil Berevoescu made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Emanuel Şoimu sent off a good shot on target. After 85 minutes, Romeo Constantiniu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Setu AC and the Ponoreni SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Romeo Constantiniu hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute of the match Eliodor Cozmâncă shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nichifor Adomniței showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ponoreni SC's Viorel Stamatiu got a free kick in the 95th minute. Eliodor Cozmâncă took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nichifor Adomniței. Ponoreni SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Ponoreni SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
