A throw-in in the 5th minute of the game was made by Silviu Onuț with Emanuel Şoimu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 6 minutes into the game, Emanuel Şoimu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponoreni SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciragi FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyrille Huynh in the 8th minute of play forced Ponoreni SC's goalkeeper Nichifor Adomniței to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Mihăileanu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Martin Corbea showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. The supporters of Ponoreni SC booed when Ciragi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ştefan Gurlui didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Martin Corbea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Mihăileanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ponoreni SC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Silviu Onuț hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyrille Huynh in the 20th minute of play forced Ponoreni SC's goalkeeper Nichifor Adomniței to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edu Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Mihai Isopescu came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eric Mihăileanu could save by the left post. The supporters of Ponoreni SC booed when Ciragi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Gurlui didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nichifor Adomniței took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyrille Huynh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihai Isopescu in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eric Mihăileanu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cyrille Huynh was the one to do the kick off. Eric Mihăileanu came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ponoreni SC's Martin Corbea. But to his dismay, Martin Corbea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Eric Mihăileanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Isopescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Eric Mihăileanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihai Isopescu in the 65th minute of play. When Martin Corbea came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Ponoreni SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Corbea couldn't finish the play. Ciragi FC's Victor Gurlui quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Viorel Stamatiu, made in the 87th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Leontin Bungeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciragi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leontin Bungeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nichifor Adomniței breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Ciragi FC booed when Ponoreni SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Isopescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Ciragi FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ciragi FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Ponoreni SC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
