Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damian Dumitrachescu started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Fabian Butnaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nechifor Horodincă was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. In the 5th minute, Damian Dumitrachescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 6th match minute, Petrolul Berca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Răzvan Aalexoaiei to maneuver through the defense. In the 12thth minute of the game Damian Dumitrachescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petrolul Berca's Nechifor Horodincă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th match minute, CsMotru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Stroia to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, CsMotru's Narcis Ispas got control of the ball when Mihăiţă Bărbulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. CsMotru's Narcis Ispas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Ciocan in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Petrolul Berca's Codrin Gușatu got a free kick in the 31st minute. If Mihăiţă Bărbulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Fabian Butnaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damian Dumitrachescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nechifor Horodincă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fabian Butnaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nichifor Crivac hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After having played for 47 minutes, Fabian Butnaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CsMotru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Butnaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

52 minutes into the match, Petrolul Berca's goalkeeper Nechifor Horodincă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian Butnaru. Petrolul Berca's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Damian Dumitrachescu 53 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. Fabian Butnaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nechifor Horodincă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CsMotru. In the 69th minute, Codrin Gușatu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 played minutes Damian Dumitrachescu rounded Petrolul Berca's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. After 75 minutes of play CsMotru's Ionică Stroia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 76th minute, Ionică Stroia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Petrolul Berca's zone, Damian Dumitrachescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Horodincă came out of the goal and Damian Dumitrachescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Filip in the 87th minute of play forced Petrolul Berca's goalkeeper Nechifor Horodincă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CsMotru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Francisc Mutu in the 89th minute. After taking down the ball on CsMotru's corner Francisc Mutu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nechifor Horodincă quite easily take care of the ball. CsMotru played a much better game than Petrolul Berca and deserved their victory. The Petrolul Berca players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
