Gabriel Mangra made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Fabian Butnaru sent off a good shot on target. 21 minutes into the game, FC LEII's Nistor Ciociu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narcis Ispas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Liviu Roşu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CsMotru's Fabian Butnaru got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fabian Butnaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CsMotru's zone, Liviu Roşu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narcis Ispas came out of the goal and Liviu Roşu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half FC LEII were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

CsMotru's Narcis Ispas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save CsMotru from getting a goal against them. Fabian Butnaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liviu Roşu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Narcis Ispas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute of the match Sever Răduța sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Narcis Ispas skillfully saved the ball. Damian Dumitrachescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Mangra having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, FC LEII's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Dumitrachescu came free, but Gabriel Mangra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narcis Ispas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Roşu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisc Mutu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Narcis Ispas came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC LEII's Nistor Ciociu. But to his dismay, Nistor Ciociu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 74th match minute, FC LEII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Ficsinescu to maneuver through the defense. Damian Dumitrachescu struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Gabriel Mangra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CsMotru. If Ionică Stroia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
