The FC LEII fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Mangra should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes in the game, Nistor Ciociu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bogdan Teodor having to interfere. Liviu Roşu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Teodor having to interfere. Anton Negru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC LEII's zone, Marius Secară stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Mangra came out of the goal and Marius Secară tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute Laurențiu Mercescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Mangra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC LEII players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Baia Mare were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Liviu Roşu made the kick off in the second half. Anton Negru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. The supporters of FC Baia Mare booed when FC LEII was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduard Ficsinescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded FC Baia Mare left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC LEII.
