Fabian Butnaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Bogdan Teodor made a huge save. After a rather tough play, FC Baia Mare's Bogdan Măgurean got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 13 played minutes FC Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Măgurean. The long shot by Francisc Mutu in the 13th minute really tested Bogdan Teodor's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Narcis Ispas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Negru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes CsMotru got a freekick which was hit by Nichifor Crivac. Narcis Ispas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Negru in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Ionică Stroia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, CsMotru's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Negru came free, but Narcis Ispas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiberiu Cozac's late challenge caught a FC Baia Mare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiberiu Cozac helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Tiberiu Cozac hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisc Mutu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bogdan Teodor. FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, CsMotru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiberiu Cozac to maneuver through the defense. In the 56thth minute of the game Fabian Butnaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Baia Mare's Bogdan Teodor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, CsMotru's Ionică Stroia got a free kick in the 57th minute. FC Baia Mare's Anton Negru got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in CsMotru fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Pavel Nuțu shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Bogdan Teodor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Butnaru in the 64th minute of play. FC Baia Mare's Bogdan Măgurean got his second yellow card of the match in the 70th minute. The referee ordered Bogdan Măgurean off the ground. A collision led to FC Baia Mare getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Bogdan Măgurean hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Bogdan Teodor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Baia Mare's Bogdan Teodor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Dumitrachescu in the 77th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Laurențiu Mercescu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 88 played minutes FC Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Anton Negru. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anton Negru got free with Narcis Ispas in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 95 played minutes CsMotru got a freekick which was hit by Nichifor Crivac. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CsMotru fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Baia Mare had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
