Spectators: 7509 (Terracing: 5632, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) Romania's Gigel Cotuțiu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Romania booed when Otomani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olimpiu Elian didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Romania's Daniel Benga tried to score from far away in the 14th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A hard shot 15 in the game by Dacian Nuțu from a close distance when the talented Adam Teodor managed to make a qualified save. Otomani's players were relieved. Mugur Albuț recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Damian Braru came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Otomani fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Braru couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute Alex Troncotă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Hurmuzescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigel Cotuțiu in the 27th minute of play forced Otomani's goalkeeper Adam Teodor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otomani's Adam Teodor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Otomani from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dacian Nuțu got free with Adam Teodor in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adam Teodor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacian Nuțu in the 35th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mugur Albuț made a kick off. Eugen Novăceanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. 58 minutes into the match, Otomani's Cosmin Dinescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilian Hurmuzescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Mugur Albuț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Otomani's goal looked a bit too open when Dacian Nuțu came free, but Adam Teodor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otomani's Adam Teodor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Cotuțiu in the 63rd minute of play. Emilian Hurmuzescu was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Olimpiu Elian capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aron Beniuc's late challenge caught a Otomani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
