A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Dacian Nuțu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Avram Coja. Goranesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dacian Nuțu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 36 minutes into the match, Romania's Gigel Cotuțiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Avram Coja narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emilian Hurmuzescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavius Vrânceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Gigel Cotuțiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavius Vrânceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Emilian Hurmuzescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 52nd match minute, Goranesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valer Teleagă to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Daniel Benga from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Avram Coja's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 55 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Podgoreanu came free, but Emilian Hurmuzescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilian Hurmuzescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goranesti. In the 75th minute, Dacian Nuțu made a precise shot to the right of Avram Coja. Goranesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. 79 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Podgoreanu came free, but Emilian Hurmuzescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dacian Nuțu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Avram Coja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Gigel Cotuțiu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Avram Coja. The goal made the score 2-4. Gigel Cotuțiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avram Coja having to interfere. The Goranesti supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Romania's performance. The match ended with a win for Romania.
