Spectators: 7532 (Terracing: 5650, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 150) Goranesti's Flavius Vrânceanu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nechifor Zdrobiş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavius Vrânceanu in the 5th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Plaic got a freekick which was hit by Horea Angheloiu. Edgar Podgoreanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nechifor Zdrobiş having to make a save. After 14 played minutes Plaic got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Torouţ. Nechifor Zdrobiş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavius Vrânceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Plaic's Horea Angheloiu got a free kick in the 18th minute. Avram Coja stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iulian Torouţ's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Costel Bratu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Avram Coja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Bratu in the 26th minute of play. Vlad Mahonea took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Avram Coja. Avram Coja dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 31st minute Costel Bratu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avram Coja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iulian Torouţ stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Costel Bratu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Avram Coja. Goranesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Costel Bratu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Avram Coja as he didn't even see the shot coming. After having played for 86 minutes, Edgar Podgoreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goranesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Podgoreanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Horea Angheloiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Goranesti were awarded a corner. Valer Teleagă went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Valer Teleagă almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Plaic's Nechifor Zdrobiş did a great save. The Plaic supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Plaic would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
