Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Codruț Gâlcă started the match with the kick off. Șerban Armanca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Bărănescu in the 3rd minute of play. FC. ZALAU's Ilie Geambașu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save FC. ZALAU from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Corneliu Teofil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Șerban Armanca was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Corneliu Teofil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augustin Neacșu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Geambașu having to interfere. Adrian Aelenei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Șerban Armanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC. ZALAU's Corneliu Teofil got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 30th minute when Codruț Gâlcă elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Gelu Juverdeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ilie Geambașu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gelu Juverdeanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Ilie Geambașu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gelu Juverdeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FC. ZALAU's Ilie Geambașu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codruț Gâlcă in the 40th minute of play. FC. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adrian Aelenei to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Aelenei in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Șerban Armanca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Șerban Armanca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Aelenei in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Gelu Juverdeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ilie Geambașu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Gâlcă in the 58th minute of the match. Corneliu Teofil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codruț Gâlcă in the 62nd minute of play forced FC. ZALAU's goalkeeper Ilie Geambașu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Șerban Armanca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Aelenei in the 65th minute of play. Ilie Geambașu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gelu Juverdeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 minutes, Cezar Vorniceanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC. ZALAU and the Zoicarul players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute Adrian Aelenei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Șerban Armanca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gelu Juverdeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilie Geambașu came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Zoicarul's Gelu Juverdeanu. But to his dismay, Gelu Juverdeanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After some careless play in the FC. ZALAU defense, Gelu Juverdeanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilie Geambașu. The FC. ZALAU fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilie Geambașu should have stopped the shot. Zoicarul's Codruț Gâlcă got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Gelu Juverdeanu made a precise shot to the right of Ilie Geambașu. FC. ZALAU's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Codruț Gâlcă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ilie Geambașu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Codruț Gâlcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
