The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 15 played minutes FC Chimindia got a freekick which was hit by Dacian Horodincă. A collision led to FC Sebastian getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Mihail Vătafu hit a great ball. Dinu Ticulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Tunaru having to interfere. Teodor Zglimbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Tunaru having to interfere. If Teodor Zglimbea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dacian Horodincă hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Ferdinand Pașcalău took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matei Chevereșan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Teodor Zglimbea made the kick off in the second half. Iosif Poplăcean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. FC Chimindia's Gabriel Tunaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodor Zglimbea in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Teodor Zglimbea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinu Ticulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodor Zglimbea in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Tunaru saved FC Chimindia from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iosif Poplăcean got free with Ferdinand Pașcalău in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dinu Ticulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, FC Chimindia's Tudor Encuțu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Tudor Encuțu charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tudor Encuțu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Tudor Encuțu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihnea Paveliuc, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. FC Sebastian's Teodor Zglimbea got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Dinu Ticulescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Tunaru was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Gabriel Tunaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Zglimbea in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Ticulescu in the 91st minute of play forced FC Chimindia's goalkeeper Gabriel Tunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dinu Ticulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mihail Vătafu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Tunaru having to interfere. FC Chimindia succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC Sebastian had controlled the match.
