Spectators: 7474 (Terracing: 5607, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manole Bacanu started the match with the kick off. When Horaţiu Bodnar fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cocosul's protests and gave Horaţiu Bodnar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Cocosul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Bodnar to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 6 minutes, Manole Bacanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Niculitel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manole Bacanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 7 played minutes Cocosul got a freekick which was hit by Horia Plopeanu. Albert Lixandru made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Nicodim Abrudan sent off a good shot on target. Nicodim Abrudan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Niculitel's zone, Isac Strugure stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Lixandru came out of the goal and Isac Strugure tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mădălin Apostolescu in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sven Ambjörnsson saved Cocosul from getting behind. Cocosul's Sven Ambjörnsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Bacanu in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Niculitel's Albert Lixandru got control of the ball when Nicodim Abrudan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cocosul's Isac Strugure was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 26th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isac Strugure in the 31st minute of play forced Niculitel's goalkeeper Albert Lixandru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicodim Abrudan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Lixandru having to interfere. After 39 minutes, Doru Buciuman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Niculitel and the Cocosul players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute, Doru Buciuman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cocosul's Horaţiu Bodnar got his second yellow card of the match in the 43rd minute. The referee ordered Horaţiu Bodnar off the ground. The supporters of Niculitel booed when Cocosul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horaţiu Bodnar didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicodim Abrudan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mădălin Apostolescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Mădălin Apostolescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Niculitel's supporters rose to their feet, but Mădălin Apostolescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven Ambjörnsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manole Bacanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sven Ambjörnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mădălin Apostolescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Ambjörnsson having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Mădălin Apostolescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sven Ambjörnsson made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Mădălin Apostolescu sent off a good shot on target. Mădălin Apostolescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven Ambjörnsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mădălin Apostolescu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute, Isac Strugure hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Cocosul's zone, Manole Bacanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven Ambjörnsson came out of the goal and Manole Bacanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Cocosul support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
