The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th minute, one of Niculitel:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Niculitel. After having played for 16 minutes, Isac Voinescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calugarita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isac Voinescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute Lucian Cismarescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Lixandru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mugurel Murgoci was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mădălin Apostolescu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Niculitel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mădălin Apostolescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Dinu Gorun ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albert Lixandru was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After having played for 35 minutes, Dinu Gorun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a rather tough play, Niculitel's Mădălin Apostolescu got a free kick in the 44th minute. After the first half Calugarita were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manole Bacanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Dinu Gorun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calugarita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Niculitel the free kick. Lucian Cismarescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Lixandru having to interfere. With his leg Albert Lixandru managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Calugarita's Pavel Frumușanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 67 minutes into the match, Manole Bacanu notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Calugarita's Mugurel Murgoci. Mugurel Murgoci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucian Cismarescu during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manole Bacanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Mugurel Murgoci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Lixandru was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Isac Voinescu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Isac Voinescu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-5. In the 80th minute, Lucian Cismarescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinu Gorun did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-6 to the left of a surprised Albert Lixandru 85 minutes into the match. Dinu Goruns short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Albert Lixandru to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Doru Buciuman's late challenge caught a Calugarita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doru Buciuman helped the player get up and apologised. Doru Buciuman kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Lucian Cismarescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Albert Lixandru skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
