Spectators: 7483 (Terracing: 5614, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cristian Andrieșanu took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Calistrat Bărănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brestelnic's supporters rose to their feet, but Calistrat Bărănescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grigore Lăcătuș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Andrieșanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Grigore Lăcătuș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Mugurel Bolborici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Andrieșanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigore Lăcătuș having to interfere. When Alex Pogea fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brestelnic's protests and gave Alex Pogea a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Brestelnic fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Poju a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Niculae Rotariu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Brestelnic's Dragoş Morar. 0-1. After 24 minutes, Petru Caramitru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brestelnic and the Poju players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Petru Caramitru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Andrieșanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Grigore Lăcătuș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brestelnic's Calistrat Bărănescu got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Poju were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mugur Ielciu made a kick off. Calistrat Bărănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Grigore Lăcătuș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, Poju was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mugurel Bolborici to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moise Zorlescu during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Poju! Grigore Lăcătuș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Andrieșanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Petru Caramitru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Lăcătuș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brestelnic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calistrat Bărănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Andrieșanu scored 2-1 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grigore Lăcătuș, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Grigore Lăcătuș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calistrat Bărănescu in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Mugur Ielciu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cristian Andrieșanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
