Dumitru Chiriacescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Isac Albescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Florin Neacșu fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liverpool FC's protests and gave Florin Neacșu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Liverpool FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Florin Neacșu hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Marceni CSM's Toader Ciorobîtcă dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Claudiu Ciupe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marceni CSM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudiu Ciupe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Basarab Aursulesei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toader Ciorobîtcă in the 21st minute of the match. Marceni CSM's Dorin Jianu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Basarab Aursulesei but with some difficulty. Vintilă Atanasiu hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Eliodor Iliuță got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dumitru Chiriacescu in the 37th minute of play forced Marceni CSM's goalkeeper Isac Albescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isac Albescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliodor Iliuță went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Basarab Aursulesei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Ciupe in the 51st minute of play. After 53 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Petre Ciomag. 58 minutes into the match, Marceni CSM's Toader Ciorobîtcă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Basarab Aursulesei narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Basarab Aursulesei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Crețulescu's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Claudiu Ciupe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marceni CSM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudiu Ciupe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Marceni CSM booed when Liverpool FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Iliuță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marceni CSM's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dorin Jianu in the 66th minute. Toader Ciorobîtcă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basarab Aursulesei having to interfere. Toader Ciorobîtcă blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Basarab Aursulesei having to make a save. If Toader Ciorobîtcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marceni CSM's Claudiu Ciupe got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Claudiu Ciupe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basarab Aursulesei was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. In the 83rd match minute, Liverpool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcu Coporan to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Basarab Aursulesei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Basarab Aursulesei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toader Ciorobîtcă's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Toader Ciorobîtcă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basarab Aursulesei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Ciupe in the 95th minute of the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
