The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Molani CSM's Alexandru Cornea got control of the ball when Isac Ciuvică tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandru Ghizdeanu in the 5th minute of play forced Ponita SC's goalkeeper Florin Pacurar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ponita SC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Marian Danciu hit a great ball. Felix Juverdeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Alexandru Cornea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costel Pintilie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Cornea having to interfere. Ponita SC's Isac Ciuvică got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ponita SC's Costel Pintilie got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isac Ciuvică got free with Alexandru Cornea in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The long shot by Alin Dănănae in the 26th minute really tested Alexandru Cornea's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Hâjdău in the 29th minute of play forced Ponita SC's goalkeeper Florin Pacurar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costel Pintilie in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandru Cornea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Felix Juverdeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexandru Ghizdeanu struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Florin Pacurar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Molani CSM. Florin Pacurar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Ghizdeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Codruț Prisecaru made a kick off. After 63 minutes, Costel Pintilie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponita SC and the Molani CSM players grew even worse after the yellow card. Costel Pintilie kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Marian Danciu kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Ponita SC's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Prisecaru came free, but Florin Pacurar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Juverdeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexandru Cornea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Juverdeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Ponita SC's Felix Juverdeanu got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th match minute, Molani CSM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Prisecaru to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Molani CSM's Codruț Prisecaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florin Pacurar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexandru Cornea came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ponita SC's Isac Ciuvică. But to his dismay, Isac Ciuvică quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 94 minutes into the match, Ponita SC's Isac Ciuvică sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandru Cornea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felix Juverdeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute of the match Ferdinand Silişteanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexandru Cornea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ponita SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
