In the 9th minute, one of FCM Bacau:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FCM Bacau. In the 18thth minute of the game Alexandru Pancu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FCM Bacau's Eliodor Macovei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eliodor Macovei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandru Pancu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliodor Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavius Ionete in the 24th minute of the match. After 25 played minutes FCM Bacau got a freekick which was hit by Mihail Hâjdău. In the 27th minute Birceii FC were awarded a corner. Mihail Alexandroae went to the cornerflag to take it. Valeriu Ciurea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sabin Hurmuzache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Valeriu Ciurea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valeriu Ciurea might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabin Hurmuzache. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valeriu Ciurea ran back to his position shaking his head. If Virgil Alexandrescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Virgil Alexandrescu to make the kick off. Birceii FC's Alexandru Pancu got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Petru Bîlbă fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCM Bacau's protests and gave Petru Bîlbă a yellow card for diving instead. Petru Bîlbă hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Valeriu Ciurea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Sabin Hurmuzache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Virgil Alexandrescu made a precise shot to the right of Sabin Hurmuzache. Birceii FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sabin Hurmuzache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Alexandrescu in the 82nd minute of play. Eliodor Macovei made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Alexandru Pancu sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgil Alexandrescu in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sabin Hurmuzache saved Birceii FC from getting behind. Birceii FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FCM Bacau had controlled the match.
