Virgil Alexandrescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Viorel Ghiciușca having to make a save. If Virgil Alexandrescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Alexandrescu in the 13th minute of play forced Ofsenita CSS's goalkeeper Viorel Ghiciușca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Nechifor Şerb notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FCM Bacau's Eliodor Macovei. Eliodor Macovei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 20th minute, Virgil Alexandrescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FCM Bacau booed when Ofsenita CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragoş Moiș didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Virgil Alexandrescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Viorel Ghiciușca. The goal made the score 1-1. After having played for 38 minutes, Nechifor Şerb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ofsenita CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nechifor Şerb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrei Cara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Eliodor Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Nechifor Şerb made the kick off in the second half. Eliodor Macovei made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Andrei Cara sent off a good shot on target. Valeriu Ciurea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Viorel Ghiciușca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgil Alexandrescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Ghiciușca having to interfere. If Valeriu Ciurea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petru Bîlbă hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Nechifor Şerb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliodor Macovei having to interfere. FCM Bacau's Eliodor Macovei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save FCM Bacau from getting a goal against them. After 69 played minutes FCM Bacau got a freekick which was hit by Petru Bîlbă. Eliodor Macovei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nechifor Şerb in the 72nd minute of play. Eliodor Macovei was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nechifor Şerb showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 74 minute of play. FCM Bacau's Petru Bîlbă got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrei Cara got free with Eliodor Macovei in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Pompiliu Voineag fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCM Bacau's protests and gave Pompiliu Voineag a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FCM Bacau getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Pompiliu Voineag hit a great ball. Nechifor Şerb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andrei Cara struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Eliodor Macovei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ofsenita CSS. Viorel Ghiciușca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Alexandrescu in the 92nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Valeriu Ciurea managed to get in a good position for a shot. FCM Bacau's supporters rose to their feet, but Valeriu Ciurea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viorel Ghiciușca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
