If Radu Roşoga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Claudiu Trifu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Șerban Bărănescu was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Șerban Bărănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Roşoga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Speranta Sibiu were furious when Mihnea Sorin was red carded, 9 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Radu Roşoga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Șerban Bărănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudiu Trifu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Șerban Bărănescu having to make a save. Radu Roşoga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Bărănescu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Speranta Sibiu's Avram Loghin got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Sohodolu CSS's Claudiu Trifu in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Speranta Sibiu's goalie prevented a goal. When Călin Uduleanu came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Speranta Sibiu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Călin Uduleanu couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, Emanuel Datcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Șerban Bărănescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Trifu in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 38th minute Claudiu Trifu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Șerban Bărănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Șerban Bărănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Trifu in the 45th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudiu Trifu in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Șerban Bărănescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudiu Trifu to make the kick off. Călin Uduleanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Octav Manciulea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Șerban Bărănescu came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Sohodolu CSS's Radu Roşoga. But to his dismay, Radu Roşoga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A hard shot 61 in the game by Radu Roşoga from a close distance when the talented Șerban Bărănescu managed to make a qualified save. Speranta Sibiu's players were relieved. Vasile Arsene kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Călin Uduleanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Manciulea having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Avram Loghin during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sohodolu CSS booed when Speranta Sibiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Loghin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sohodolu CSS's Laurențiu Finteșteanu suffered a concussion after 72 minutes and had to leave the field. The supporters of Sohodolu CSS booed when Speranta Sibiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Loghin didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Speranta Sibiu getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Călin Uduleanu hit a great ball. Radu Roşoga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Șerban Bărănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Speranta Sibiu's zone, Marian Radu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Șerban Bărănescu came out of the goal and Marian Radu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Speranta Sibiu fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sohodolu CSS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
