Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Galactic Iasi's Rareș Drăgănoiu in the 17th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Mihail Bungescu was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Herculian through an amazing save. If Fabian Gheban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dumitru Nanu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Fabian Gheban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galactic Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Gheban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabian Gheban's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Mihail Bungescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Tremurici in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robert Ţirpe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Robert Ţirpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionel Calomfirescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Tremurici in the 43rd minute of play forced Galactic Iasi's goalkeeper Robert Ţirpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marius Morar during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Herculian's Marius Morar got a free kick in the 46th minute. After 47 played minutes, Galactic Iasi's Dumitru Nanu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mihail Bungescu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galactic Iasi reached it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristian Tremurici to strike the kick off in the second half. Fabian Gheban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Mihail Bungescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigore Bilașco in the 69th minute of play forced Galactic Iasi's goalkeeper Robert Ţirpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Galactic Iasi's Robert Ţirpe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Tremurici in the 70th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Galactic Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Iustin Ilarie. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Galactic Iasi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gabriel Decuseară was slow to take the kick. During this time Herculian's players had a chance to rest. Sabin Pascariu tried in the 75th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Robert Ţirpe a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 0-1. Robert Ţirpe made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Ionel Calomfirescu sent off a good shot on target. Mihail Bungescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Drăgănoiu in the 82nd minute of play. Cristian Tremurici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rareș Drăgănoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ionel Calomfirescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Robert Ţirpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Herculian supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Herculian would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
