The wind increased when Rareș Drăgănoiu made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Speranta Sibiu's zone, Fabian Gheban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Șerban Bărănescu came out of the goal and Fabian Gheban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florin Brad hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Galactic Iasi's Robert Ţirpe got control of the ball when Călin Uduleanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Rareș Drăgănoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 85th match minute, Speranta Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Avram Loghin to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 87 minutes, Fabian Gheban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Gheban in the 90th minute of play forced Speranta Sibiu's goalkeeper Șerban Bărănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Vasile Arsene dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Robert Ţirpe, 0-2. A collision led to Speranta Sibiu getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Vasile Arsene hit a great ball. The Galactic Iasi manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Speranta Sibiu to win.
