Fabian Mereacre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Șerban Bărănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Mereacre in the 10th minute of play. Călin Uduleanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Panait Beca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vasile Arsene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panait Beca was a little too slow when Emanuel Datcu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihnea Sorin during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st minute, one of Speranta Sibiu:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Speranta Sibiu. Panait Beca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Datcu's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. A collision led to Fintoaga getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Valer Boieru hit a great ball. In the 37th match minute, Speranta Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Călin Uduleanu to maneuver through the defense. Călin Uduleanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Panait Beca having to make a save. Emanuel Datcu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Panait Beca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Fabian Mereacre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Bărănescu having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, Fabian Mereacre fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Șerban Bărănescu, passed just outside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Petre Pârlog managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fintoaga's supporters rose to their feet, but Petre Pârlog was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Șerban Bărănescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th match minute, Speranta Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Datcu to maneuver through the defense. Șerban Bărănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavril Hizo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the game, Gavril Hizo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Șerban Bărănescu. Gavril Hizo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Șerban Bărănescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gavril Hizo in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute Călin Uduleanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panait Beca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petre Pârlog hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Anton Hurgoi hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Speranta Sibiu's Ciprian Pupăzan tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fintoaga's goalkeeper Panait Beca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Panait Beca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuel Datcu went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Speranta Sibiu's Șerban Bărănescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavril Hizo in the 87th minute of play. Gavril Hizo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Șerban Bărănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Șerban Bărănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavril Hizo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
