Claudiu Trifu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute Claudiu Trifu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Șerban Bărănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radu Roşoga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Șerban Bărănescu made a huge save. In the 22nd minute, Claudiu Trifu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute of the match, Radu Roşoga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Șerban Bărănescu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudiu Trifu in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Șerban Bărănescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Radu Roşoga sped through Speranta Sibiu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Șerban Bărănescu. In the 31st minute Emanuel Datcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octav Manciulea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Speranta Sibiu's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Radu Roşoga fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Speranta Sibiu's Șerban Bărănescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Trifu in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Datcu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Speranta Sibiu's Călin Uduleanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. The audience was convinced that Claudiu Trifu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Șerban Bărănescu was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After having played for 66 minutes, Radu Roşoga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sohodolu CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radu Roşoga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute, Claudiu Trifu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Radu Roşoga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Șerban Bărănescu was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 72nd minute, Avram Loghin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Radu Roşoga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Sohodolu CSS's Radu Roşoga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Șerban Bărănescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Claudiu Trifu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Șerban Bărănescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radu Roşoga in the 89th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Radu Roşoga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sohodolu CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Radu Roşoga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Șerban Bărănescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Trifu in the 92nd minute of play forced Speranta Sibiu's goalkeeper Șerban Bărănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Șerban Bărănescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Radu Roşoga's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Claudiu Trifu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Șerban Bărănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Sohodolu CSS were the better team. Sohodolu CSS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
