Panait Gavruță could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Horaţiu Butuc made a huge save. Șerban Covataru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Avram Ghișe. Plesa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Liviu Cristoiu hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, Panait Gavruță got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petruț Miniș's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Horaţiu Butuc skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 18 minutes into the match, Nae Curăreanu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Plesa's Avram Ghișe. Avram Ghișe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in OTELUL GALATI's zone, Octav Tarcu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horaţiu Butuc came out of the goal and Octav Tarcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th match minute, OTELUL GALATI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilian Cînu to maneuver through the defense. Manole Cândroveanu kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Octav Tarcu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horaţiu Butuc was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Plesa's Liviu Cristoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Liviu Cristoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panait Gavruță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Butuc having to interfere. When Petruț Miniș came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Plesa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petruț Miniș couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Avram Ghișe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Turcu in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Plesa's Liviu Cristoiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horaţiu Butuc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Avram Ghișe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodor Turcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Plesa's Avram Ghișe got control of the ball when Nae Curăreanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. OTELUL GALATI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Petruț Miniș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Plesa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
