Spectators: 7472 (Terracing: 5647, Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 125) Remus Cucerdean started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind OTELUL GALATI's goalkeeper Horaţiu Butuc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 5th minute of the match, Nae Curăreanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eusebiu Petrea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Remus Cucerdean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Horaţiu Butuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Craiova's Adrian Buligan in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye OTELUL GALATI's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, OTELUL GALATI's Fabian Marinică got a free kick in the 11th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Craiova's Remus Cucerdean sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horaţiu Butuc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, OTELUL GALATI's goal looked a bit too open when Remus Cucerdean came free, but Horaţiu Butuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Tăutu in the 20th minute of play forced OTELUL GALATI's goalkeeper Horaţiu Butuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, OTELUL GALATI's Fabian Marinică got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute Teodor Turcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebiu Petrea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remus Cucerdean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Remus Cucerdean came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remus Cucerdean couldn't finish the play. Adrian Buligan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Butuc having to interfere. OTELUL GALATI's Horaţiu Butuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remus Cucerdean in the 33rd minute of play. Eusebiu Petrea was a little too slow when Teodor Turcu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-0. The audience was convinced that Remus Cucerdean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horaţiu Butuc was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teodor Turcu was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind OTELUL GALATI's goalkeeper Horaţiu Butuc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Adrian Buligan came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrian Buligan couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in OTELUL GALATI's zone, Adrian Buligan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horaţiu Butuc came out of the goal and Adrian Buligan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucrețiu Cârju hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Eusebiu Petrea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Turcu in the 65th minute of play. Horaţiu Butuc came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Craiova's Adrian Buligan. But to his dismay, Adrian Buligan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 78th minute, Remus Cucerdean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Remus Cucerdean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodor Turcu kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind OTELUL GALATI's goalkeeper Horaţiu Butuc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The OTELUL GALATI fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Craiova were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
