Horaţiu Butuc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Horaţiu Butuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aron Caramitru in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th match minute, OTELUL GALATI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilian Cînu to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Francisc Atodiresei notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of OTELUL GALATI's Horaţiu Butuc. Horaţiu Butuc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodor Neaga during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Galin getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Teodor Neaga hit a great ball. Lucian Purcărete was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nae Curăreanu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 22 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Galin's Cristinel Meleșcanu got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute of the match Șerban Covataru shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucian Purcărete showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nae Curăreanu scored 2-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucian Purcărete, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matei Caramitru during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Galin getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Matei Caramitru hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Nae Curăreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. OTELUL GALATI's supporters rose to their feet, but Nae Curăreanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucian Purcărete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Francisc Atodiresei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Butuc having to interfere. Nechifor Ciocâltea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lucian Purcărete. Galin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 63 played minutes Aron Caramitru rounded OTELUL GALATI's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-3. With an all-out effort, Galin's Horaţiu Butuc threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aron Caramitru, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aron Caramitru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aron Caramitru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horaţiu Butuc having to make a save. In the 93rd minute, Șerban Covataru sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Galin's Lucian Purcărete didn't even have to move. Cristinel Meleșcanu charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristinel Meleșcanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes Galin got a freekick which was hit by Cristinel Meleșcanu. The Galin players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
