With a left leg Șerban Lăzăroiu saved F.C. Lupeni from getting behind. Șerban Lăzăroiu was a little too slow when Ştefan Bărbuceanu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 6th minute. The score was now 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, F.C. Lupeni's Felix Mihăescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabian Cârstoiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Vintilă Drogoreanu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Șerban Lăzăroiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ştefan Bărbuceanu in the 15th minute of the match. Sorin Dumitru hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Vintilă Drogoreanu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Șerban Lăzăroiu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Șerban Lăzăroiu managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Luminis's Ştefan Bărbuceanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Vintilă Drogoreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ştefan Bărbuceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Lăzăroiu having to interfere. When Laurențiu Caranfil fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. Lupeni's protests and gave Laurențiu Caranfil a yellow card for diving instead. Laurențiu Caranfil hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Ştefan Bărbuceanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Șerban Lăzăroiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Bărbuceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Șerban Lăzăroiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Bărbuceanu in the 95th minute of play. Ştefan Bărbuceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Șerban Lăzăroiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Luminis were the better team. Luminis's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
