Ernest Axinia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Cazimir Hulubei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the game, Iordache Dărăscu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Milan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragonul the free kick. When Sebastian Zbârnea fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Milan's protests and gave Sebastian Zbârnea a yellow card for diving instead. Manole Hârlab showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Zbârnea in the 10th minute of the match. Cazimir Hulubei was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Ernest Axinia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ernest Axinia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilian Troncotă got free with Cazimir Hulubei in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emilian Troncotăs short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Cazimir Hulubei to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ciprian Buhăescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Manole Hârlab tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Zbârnea in the 39th minute of play forced Dragonul's goalkeeper Manole Hârlab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dragonul's zone, Sebastian Zbârnea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manole Hârlab came out of the goal and Sebastian Zbârnea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Dragonul's goal looked a bit too open when Ciprian Buhăescu came free, but Manole Hârlab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45th play minutes Ernest Axinia shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Cazimir Hulubei and just under the crossbar into goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

A collision led to Dragonul getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Irinel Cobzeanu hit a great ball. Manole Hârlab made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Sebastian Zbârnea sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Dragonul's Marcel Hortopan got a free kick in the 56th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in AC Milan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Cazimir Hulubei went to the wrong direction when David Vintilă was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Emilian Troncotă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Hulubei having to interfere. Ernest Axinia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Cazimir Hulubei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cazimir Hulubei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sebastian Zbârnea was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 77 minutes had been played. In the 77th minute, Sebastian Zbârnea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Virgil Levința came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the AC Milan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgil Levința couldn't finish the play. After having played for 95 minutes, Virgil Levința managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Milan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgil Levința was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
