Spectators: 7465 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Felix Mihăescu kicked off to start the match. Calistrat Hojbota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Șerban Lăzăroiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 played minutes F.C. Lupeni got a freekick which was hit by Dorel Goiciu. In the 10th match minute, F.C. Lupeni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Goiciu to maneuver through the defense. Aurelian Şiman hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Șerban Lăzăroiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rareș Marin in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Ripensia UVT got a corner. F.C. Lupeni's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Olimpiu Chesaru ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Calistrat Hojbota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ripensia UVT's supporters rose to their feet, but Calistrat Hojbota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Șerban Lăzăroiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the match, F.C. Lupeni's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Hojbota came free, but Șerban Lăzăroiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Ripensia UVT's goalkeeper Emanuel Uduleanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sorin Dumitru. If Rareș Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Mihăescu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. F.C. Lupeni's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Calistrat Hojbota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Uduleanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Mihăescu in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Mihăescu in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Uduleanu saved Ripensia UVT from getting behind. Niculae Doman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Uduleanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Rareș Marin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Șerban Lăzăroiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ripensia UVT's Calistrat Hojbota slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Șerban Lăzăroiu. That made the score 0-1 after 65 minutes of play. A hard shot 69 in the game by Rareș Marin from a close distance when the talented Șerban Lăzăroiu managed to make a qualified save. F.C. Lupeni's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Aurelian Şiman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ripensia UVT's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelian Şiman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Șerban Lăzăroiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emanuel Uduleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Doman, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Emanuel Uduleanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Mihăescu in the 77th minute of play. F.C. Lupeni's Șerban Lăzăroiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calistrat Hojbota in the 79th minute of play. When Felix Mihăescu came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the F.C. Lupeni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Mihăescu couldn't finish the play. Ripensia UVT's Emanuel Uduleanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niculae Doman in the 83rd minute of play. Niculae Doman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Uduleanu having to interfere. Rareș Marin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Mihăescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The F.C. Lupeni supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ripensia UVT's performance. The match ended with a win for Ripensia UVT.
