Mihnea Caba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Hulubei having to interfere. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Iordache Dărăscu got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 13th minute Ciprian Buhăescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Mohora saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niculae Mohora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Buhăescu in the 15th minute of play. Cazimir Hulubei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihnea Caba, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Virgil Levința kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Sabin Busuioceanu, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in AC Milan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Sebastian Zbârnea's late challenge caught a Fundoia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Zbârnea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Milan's goalkeeper Cazimir Hulubei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 39 played minutes Fundoia got a freekick which was hit by Cristi Gogea. 40 minutes into the match, AC Milan's Iurie Tatomir broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leontin Humă in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cazimir Hulubei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in AC Milan's zone, Leontin Humă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cazimir Hulubei came out of the goal and Leontin Humă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mihnea Caba to make the kick off. Leontin Humă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Cazimir Hulubei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leontin Șişman's late challenge caught a Fundoia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leontin Șişman helped the player get up and apologised. Sebastian Zbârnea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niculae Mohora read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Fundoia's Leontin Humă got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 played minutes Fundoia got a freekick which was hit by Cristi Gogea. Leontin Humă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Cazimir Hulubei made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciprian Buhăescu in the 73rd minute of play forced Fundoia's goalkeeper Niculae Mohora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fundoia's Cristi Gogea got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ciprian Buhăescu took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niculae Mohora. Niculae Mohora dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Paul Bădiliță hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
