If Remus Fința had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristi Capătă hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Basarab Floruțiu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ionică Cupșa. Fc Catanga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, FC Burebista's goal looked a bit too open when Remus Fința came free, but Petre Mărăscu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alin Olăroiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 72 played minutes FC Burebista got a freekick which was hit by Panait Armeanca. Eliodor Tănăsie got his second yellow card in the match during the 75th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alin Olăroiu scored 2-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionică Cupșa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alin Olăroiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
