Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 6th minute of the match Octavian Ţopescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebastian Arotăriței showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 9th minute, one of California:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for California. In the 11th minute, Eusebiu Bitanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 played minutes, California's Octavian Ţopescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sebastian Arotăriței came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in California reached it. If Victor Suşu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Cotciul's goal looked a bit too open when Dorel Alupulesei came free, but Sebastian Arotăriței reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorel Bosânceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Sebastian Arotăriței tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Dorel Alupulesei notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cotciul's Sebastian Arotăriței. Sebastian Arotăriței was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Teodor Lucănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Suşu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Manuel Ungheanu suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After a rather tough play, California's Radu Manciulescu got a free kick in the 35th minute. A hard shot 38 in the game by Calistrat Molodețiu from a close distance when the talented Teodor Lucănescu managed to make a qualified save. California's players were relieved. If Calistrat Molodețiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the California defense, Calistrat Molodețiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodor Lucănescu. The California fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodor Lucănescu should have stopped the shot. In the 48thth minute of the game Dorel Bosânceanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cotciul's Sebastian Arotăriței was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorel Alupulesei made a kick off. Gheorghe Blajovici struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Teodor Lucănescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cotciul. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind California's goalkeeper Teodor Lucănescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Gheorghe Blajovici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calistrat Molodețiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Teodor Lucănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, California's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Molodețiu came free, but Teodor Lucănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Dorel Alupulesei dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sebastian Arotăriței, 1-2. In the 81st minute, Ion Ailenei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Cotciul's Olimpiu Cârju broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cotciul's Victor Suşu got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gheorghe Blajovici struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Teodor Lucănescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cotciul. Cotciul's Sebastian Arotăriței played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorel Alupulesei in the 96th minute of play. Chants of California echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Cotciul had held the ball for most of the match.
