Spectators: 7490 (Terracing: 5618, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) FCSM PODARI's Martin Domuță started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maxim Șofran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Calomfirescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 6 minutes FCSM PODARI's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felix Ciolac who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Felix Ciolac got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Maxim Șofran quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Maxim Șofran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iulian Calomfirescu's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. If Ferdinand Molodețiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Sararestii's Ferdinand Molodețiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maxim Șofran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Iulian Calomfirescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Șofran having to interfere. When Ferdinand Molodețiu came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Sararestii fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinand Molodețiu couldn't finish the play. Iulian Calomfirescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxim Șofran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iulian Calomfirescu ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the FCSM PODARI defense, Ferdinand Molodețiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maxim Șofran. The FCSM PODARI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maxim Șofran should have stopped the shot. Iulian Calomfirescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Șofran having to interfere. Maxim Șofran made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Ferdinand Molodețiu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iulian Calomfirescu in the 39th minute of play forced FCSM PODARI's goalkeeper Maxim Șofran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Aurel Bădiliță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sararestii were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after FCSM PODARI's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felix Ciolac took the corner. After a rather tough play, Sararestii's Iulian Calomfirescu got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the game, George Dejeu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sararestii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCSM PODARI the free kick. In the 44th minute, George Dejeu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dinu Pisculescu charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinu Pisculescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dinu Pisculescu hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iulian Calomfirescu to strike the kick off in the second half. Iulian Calomfirescu's late challenge caught a FCSM PODARI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iulian Calomfirescu helped the player get up and apologised. Martin Domuță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Encica having to interfere. With his leg Marcel Encica managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when FCSM PODARI's Mugurel Jucan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Iulian Calomfirescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxim Șofran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iulian Calomfirescu in the 75th minute of the match. If Mugurel Jucan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iulian Calomfirescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Șofran having to interfere. FCSM PODARI's Maxim Șofran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdinand Molodețiu in the 84th minute of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Iulian Calomfirescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sararestii's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iulian Calomfirescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Iulian Calomfirescu came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Sararestii fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iulian Calomfirescu couldn't finish the play. After 92 minutes, Gheorghe Pelin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sararestii and the FCSM PODARI players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Gheorghe Pelin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sararestii walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
