Alex Sichitiu came out of the goal and Eduard Calini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Sichitiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Calini in the 5th minute of the match. Sandu Postolache's late challenge caught a Neteni FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandu Postolache helped the player get up and apologised. A hard shot 12 in the game by Florin Strugure from a close distance when the talented Daniel Sterescu managed to make a qualified save. Zelau's players were relieved. Eduard Şumălan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Sichitiu having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Neteni FC got a freekick which was hit by Aurelian Gherase. Florin Strugure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eduard Şumălan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neteni FC's Alex Sichitiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Calini in the 22nd minute of play. Eduard Şumălan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 26 played minutes Neteni FC got a freekick which was hit by Ovidiu Găvan. In the 27th minute, Eduard Şumălan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduard Şumălan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Alex Sichitiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduard Calini struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Alex Sichitiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zelau. After 38 minutes, Ovidiu Găvan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Neteni FC and the Zelau players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Neteni FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Găvan to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute Eduard Şumălan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Sichitiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Neteni FC's Gheorghe Pacurar got a free kick in the 44th minute. Eduard Calini struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Alex Sichitiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zelau.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastian Hanganu to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Zelau's Eduard Şumălan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alex Sichitiu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Alex Sichitiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduard Calini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Sichitiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduard Şumălan went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Neteni FC booed when Zelau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandu Postolache didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Sichitiu made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Eduard Şumălan sent off a good shot on target. Zelau were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Neteni FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gică Frântu took the corner. The corner ended in Gică Frântu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Neteni FC's Alex Sichitiu did a great save. When Eduard Şumălan came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Zelau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduard Şumălan couldn't finish the play. Eduard Calini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Sichitiu having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Zelau left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Neteni FC.
