Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Vasile Nanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hotesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Football Stars the free kick. In the 4th minute, Vasile Nanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 4 minutes into the match, Football Stars's Iulian Găman broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Viorel Itoafă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Iovan hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Pavel Măgherușan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilie Iovanovici read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hotesti's goalkeeper Eric Lupașcu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Football Stars's Alex Balint got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Romeo Ciompec, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 28th minute Viorel Itoafă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Lupașcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pavel Măgherușan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iordache Maleș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ilie Iovanovici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Football Stars's Ilie Iovanovici proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Football Stars from getting a goal against them. When Iordache Maleș came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Hotesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Maleș couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Ilie Iovanovici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radu Ailincai in the 51st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Narcis Reznic in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilie Iovanovici saved Football Stars from getting behind. After 54 minutes, Daniel Mândru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Football Stars and the Hotesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ilie Iovanovici showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Maleș, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Ilie Iovanovici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iordache Maleș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Football Stars's Ilie Iovanovici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iordache Maleș in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Football Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matei Iordan to maneuver through the defense. In the 84thth minute of the game Iordache Maleș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Football Stars's Ilie Iovanovici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pavel Măgherușan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Iovanovici having to interfere. Ilie Iovanovici showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Maleș, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hotesti's zone, Viorel Itoafă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Lupașcu came out of the goal and Viorel Itoafă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
