Silviu Zdrelea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ciprian Vişan's late challenge caught a Steaua FCSB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciprian Vişan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd match minute, Fc Racari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciprian Vişan to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mircea Bărbătescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua FCSB's supporters rose to their feet, but Mircea Bărbătescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silviu Zdrelea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mircea Bărbătescu in the 42nd minute of play forced Fc Racari's goalkeeper Silviu Zdrelea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Spiridon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Spiridon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Steaua FCSB were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mircea Bărbătescu made a kick off. Mircea Bărbătescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Silviu Zdrelea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mircea Bărbătescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute Liviu Mihuleac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costică Diaconescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costică Diaconescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liviu Mihuleac, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Liviu Mihuleac charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 80 minutes of play, Fc Racari's Marian Badea made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costică Diaconescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 83 minutes, Dinu Tecău managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua FCSB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dinu Tecău was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silviu Zdrelea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Spiridon in the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Marian Badea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fc Racari fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The Fc Racari support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
