Leonard Petrean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ferdinand Barbosu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Petrean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Radu Istrate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Cristinel Hirean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Leonard Petrean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motaenii's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Petrean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radu Istrate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Motaenii's Ferdinand Barbosu got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Radu Istrate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Petrean in the 40th minute of the match. Motaenii's Denis Corcoveanu got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 47 played minutes gcg got a freekick which was hit by Ionel Pescaru. Radu Istrate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Petrean in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

David Ispirescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Márquez having to interfere. With a little luck, gcg's Radu Istrate got control of the ball when Ferdinand Barbosu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vasile Ionescu's late challenge caught a Motaenii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vasile Ionescu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, gcg's Vasile Ionescu got a free kick in the 79th minute. David Ispirescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 minutes of play, gcg's David Ispirescu made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Márquez was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in gcg's zone, Leonard Petrean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Radu Istrate came out of the goal and Leonard Petrean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th match minute, gcg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionel Pescaru to maneuver through the defense. Motaenii's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because gcg had won, even though Motaenii had held more of the ball.
