Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Francisc Frențiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Sandu Codrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Adam Aristide managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tiur SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adam Aristide was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandu Codrea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisc Frențiu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Tiur SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Francisc Frențiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Damian Antohi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tiur SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Antohi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandu Codrea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Sandu Codrea managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Tiur SC's Francisc Frențiu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Adam Aristide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Red Bull CLUJ's zone, Damian Antohi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandu Codrea came out of the goal and Damian Antohi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisc Frențius short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Sandu Codrea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Tiur SC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Iurie Drăgănoiu hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, Red Bull CLUJ's goalkeeper Sandu Codrea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisc Frențiu. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Calistrat Brănescu thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Sandu Codrea, a very annoying self made goal in the 51st minute which led to 1-0. In the 54th minute Aron Boacă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandu Codrea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Red Bull CLUJ defense, Adam Aristide kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandu Codrea. The Red Bull CLUJ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandu Codrea should have stopped the shot. Sandu Codrea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Aristide in the 59th minute of the match. Adam Aristide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiur SC's Maxim Gheorghiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Tiur SC from getting a goal against them. Francisc Frențiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandu Codrea having to interfere. Sandu Codrea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisc Frențiu in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narcis Melinescu in the 93rd minute of play forced Red Bull CLUJ's goalkeeper Sandu Codrea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandu Codrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisc Frențiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Radu Alucusan hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Tiur SC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
