Codrin Magherescu had great luck who in the 13thth minute grab hold of the ball when Silviu Lazăr from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Ionuț Hagi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Codrin Magherescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silviu Lazăr received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Codrin Magherescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Silviu Lazăr slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Silviu Lazăr struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Codrin Magherescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Gunners. When Ionuț Hagi came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the F.C. Gunners fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ionuț Hagi couldn't finish the play. After 25 played minutes Ulm got a freekick which was hit by Alex Gherasim. In the 27th minute of the match F.C. Gunners got a corner. Ulm's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marin Avram ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 31 minutes, Ionuț Hagi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Gunners's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionuț Hagi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Doru Păunescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doru Păunescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Alex Gherasim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Eliodor Varga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dacian Şimoc's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Vasile Baba hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute Silviu Lazăr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codrin Magherescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in F.C. Gunners fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Ulm. Tudor Jder stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eliodor Varga. 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dacian Şimoc in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliodor Varga saved F.C. Gunners from getting behind. In the 80th minute, Marcel Chiru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doru Păunescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Doru Păunescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Eliodor Varga made a huge save. In the 93rd minute Dacian Şimoc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliodor Varga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th match minute, F.C. Gunners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Ailioaiei to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ulm players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
