Spectators: 7482 (Terracing: 5613, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) Costel Encica made the kick off and thus started the match. 6 minutes into the match, Äç.Jökërül 89's Costel Encica sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Codruț Răduțu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vali Mendrea in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciprian Geamănu saved Äç.Jökërül 89 from getting behind. FC Cluj Paladins's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aurel Frumuzache in the 14th minute. A nice corner shot did that Aurel Frumuzache got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ciprian Geamănu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Costel Encica blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Codruț Răduțu having to make a save. Ciprian Geamănu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ionuț Angheloiu's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Albert Anton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Spoială took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ciprian Geamănu. Äç.Jökërül 89's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ionuț Angheloiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciprian Geamănu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ionuț Angheloiu ran back to his position shaking his head. Ciprian Geamănu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Mendrea in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Ionuț Angheloiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Cluj Paladins's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionuț Angheloiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Costel Encica received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Codruț Răduțu came out and tried to block the shot, but Costel Encica slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 31st minute. In the 38th minute, Călin Mironescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Albert Anton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vali Mendrea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Cluj Paladins's Vali Mendrea got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Äç.Jökërül 89's zone, Ionuț Angheloiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciprian Geamănu came out of the goal and Ionuț Angheloiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute, one of Äç.Jökërül 89:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Äç.Jökërül 89. In the 58th minute there was a penalty for FC Cluj Paladins. Aurel Frumuzache stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ciprian Geamănu. 2-1. 62 minutes into the match, FC Cluj Paladins's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Anton came free, but Codruț Răduțu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Codruț Răduțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Encica in the 64th minute of play. 70 minutes in the game, Ionuț Angheloiu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ciprian Geamănu having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Äç.Jökërül 89's goalkeeper Ciprian Geamănu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ionuț Angheloiu. In the 76th minute, FC Cluj Paladins's Vali Mendrea dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. FC Cluj Paladins were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Äç.Jökërül 89's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aurel Frumuzache took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Äç.Jökërül 89's goalie and right to Vali Mendrea. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Äç.Jökërül 89's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Albert Anton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Codruț Răduțu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Costel Encica cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Codruț Răduțu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of FC Cluj Paladins booed when Äç.Jökërül 89 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlad Bidulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Cluj Paladins's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
