FC Dinamo:s Fabian Poplăcan showed great skill when he stopped Irinel Tuleiu:s penalty. In the 10th minute, Kataloi's Petrică Borogeanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 17th minute, Emanuel Iureș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nechifor Oncescus short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Fabian Poplăcan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Petrică Borogeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Poplăcan having to interfere. If Pompiliu Postolache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Dinamo's Fabian Poplăcan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save FC Dinamo from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Dinamo's goalkeeper Fabian Poplăcan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabian Poplăcan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petrică Borogeanu in the 31st minute of the match. A collision led to FC Dinamo getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Ionuț Druga hit a great ball. Nechifor Oncescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petrică Borogeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Poplăcan having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nechifor Oncescu got free with Fabian Poplăcan in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 49th minute, one of Kataloi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kataloi. In the 50th minute there was a penalty for FC Dinamo. Irinel Costandin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Viorel Abraham. 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petrică Borogeanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabian Poplăcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nechifor Oncescu in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of Kataloi booed when FC Dinamo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilian Cismarescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes, Kataloi's Irinel Tuleiu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fabian Poplăcan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kataloi reached it. In the 84th minute, Nechifor Oncescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute, Lucrețiu Căliman made a precise shot to the right of Viorel Abraham. Kataloi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. FC Dinamo's Costel Iorgulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Petrică Borogeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 101st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kataloi's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
