Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Ulf Hellgren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pavel Ruşdea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marin Vuia's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the FC Sustiu defense, Tudor Tiţe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pavel Ruşdea. The FC Sustiu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pavel Ruşdea should have stopped the shot. In the 21stth minute of the game Marin Vuia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Sustiu's Pavel Ruşdea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pavel Ruşdea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tudor Tiţe went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Sever Jurcuț hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, FC Sustiu's Romeo Bălășescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulf Hellgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ulf Hellgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcu Văcărescu in the 32nd minute of the match. FC Sustiu's Panait Drăgoescu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Iustinian Cocârlă, made in the 33rd minute of the game. 37 minutes into the match, Pionierul Vulcan's goalkeeper Ulf Hellgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcu Văcărescu. Pavel Ruşdea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Vuia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sever Jurcuț fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 42nd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Marin Vuia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Pavel Ruşdea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marin Vuia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Pavel Ruşdea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 57 minutes into the match, Pionierul Vulcan's goal looked a bit too open when Marcu Văcărescu came free, but Ulf Hellgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Sustiu's zone, Marin Vuia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavel Ruşdea came out of the goal and Marin Vuia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pionierul Vulcan's Tudor Tiţe got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The throw-in from Iustinian Cocârlă in the 68th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Sustiu's Panait Drăgoescu. Ulf Hellgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcu Văcărescu in the 69th minute of play. If Tudor Tiţe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pavel Ruşdea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marin Vuia went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Marin Vuia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Marcu Văcărescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Hellgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sever Jurcuț charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sever Jurcuț the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th match minute, Pionierul Vulcan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sever Jurcuț to maneuver through the defense. Ulf Hellgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Văcărescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florin Cerghizan made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Sustiu's Panait Drăgoescu. Tudor Tiţe kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Flavius Alexe sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pionierul Vulcan's Ulf Hellgren didn't even have to move. 90 minutes into the match, Flavius Alexe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulf Hellgren. Pionierul Vulcan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavius Alexe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Marcu Văcărescu took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulf Hellgren. Ulf Hellgren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pionierul Vulcan players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Sustiu.
