Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Fabian Grecu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Fabian Grecu scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudiu Marghescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Claudiu Marghescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gică Păltineanu in the 11th minute. Gică Păltineanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Romeo Stătescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marius Marinică blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vintilă Voitiş having to make a save. Gică Păltineanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Claudiu Marghescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gică Păltineanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Marghescu having to interfere. In the 31st minute Fabian Grecu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudiu Marghescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Mexicanii's Fabian Grecu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudiu Marghescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mexicanii's Fabian Grecu got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeo Stătescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vintilă Voitiş read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Mexicanii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gelu Grigoriu to maneuver through the defense. FC MITI's Edgar Tache couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Mexicanii. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marius Marinică was the one to do the kick off. 66 minutes into the game, Cristi Lopatnicu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexicanii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC MITI the free kick. Vintilă Voitiş stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marius Marinică's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Vintilă Voitiş was a little too slow when Marius Marinică got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Claudiu Marghescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Grecu in the 80th minute of play. Adrian Bercea charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Bercea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 80 played minutes FC MITI got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Bercea. Gică Păltineanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Claudiu Marghescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manole Șofran's late challenge caught a Mexicanii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manole Șofran helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mexicanii booed when FC MITI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manole Șofran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vintilă Voitiş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marius Marinică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Mexicanii players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
