The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Horia Curteanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Călin Drăgoescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Dan Udrescu kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Ion Dordea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Martin Culiță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Culiță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Pavel Iuzbașa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Șerban Panțuru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horia Curteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Călin Drăgoescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Şoimu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Los Angeles's goalkeeper Călin Drăgoescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Basarab Şoimu struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Călin Drăgoescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for International ACL.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Basarab Şoimu to make the kick off. Iordache Şelaru's late challenge caught a FC Los Angeles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iordache Şelaru helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes International ACL got a freekick which was hit by Iordache Şelaru. In the 61st minute International ACL were awarded a corner. Dan Udrescu went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to International ACL getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Iordache Şelaru hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Iordache Şelaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pavel Iuzbașa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florin Ciocoiu's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Pavel Iuzbașa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florin Ciocoiu in the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in International ACL's zone, Florin Ciocoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavel Iuzbașa came out of the goal and Florin Ciocoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pavel Iuzbașa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Ciocoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basarab Şoimu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Dan Udrescu was slow to take the kick. During this time International ACL's players had a chance to rest.
