The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The tension between the International ACL and the Cluj Fighting Race players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes International ACL got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Panțuru. In the 19thth minute of the game Denis Harhoiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but International ACL's Pavel Iuzbașa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cluj Fighting Race's Denis Harhoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Basarab Şoimu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Denis Harhoiu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pavel Iuzbașa was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. With a left leg Pavel Iuzbașa saved International ACL from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iordache Şelaru during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th minute, Iordache Şelaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. International ACL's Horia Curteanu got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Cluj Fighting Race getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Viorel Enoiu hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the game, Basarab Şoimu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. International ACL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cluj Fighting Race the free kick. After 67 minutes of play International ACL's Iordache Şelaru was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Iordache Şelaru hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Horia Curteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Şoimu in the 72nd minute of play forced Cluj Fighting Race's goalkeeper Isac Milcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by Denis Harhoiu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to International ACL getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Dragoş Ţintea hit a great ball. Șerban Panțuru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isac Milcu having to interfere. A collision led to Cluj Fighting Race getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sandu Hrandabur hit a great ball. If Denis Harhoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horia Curteanu's late challenge caught a Cluj Fighting Race's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horia Curteanu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cluj Fighting Race booed when International ACL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horia Curteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
