Ionică Honciu's late challenge caught a FC Linistea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ionică Honciu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Linistea booed when Vajla CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. After having played for 45 minutes, Călin Cociubei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Linistea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Călin Cociubei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Vajla CSM's Daniel Pavelescu got control of the ball when Augustin Cordescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iosif Costandache stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Călin Cociubei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Călin Cociubei came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the FC Linistea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Călin Cociubei couldn't finish the play. Vajla CSM's Daniel Pavelescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augustin Cordescu in the 94th minute of play. Augustin Cordescu scored 2-1 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Pavelescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Linistea had played much better football throughout.
