Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Basarab Cotoi started the match with the kick off. Mihai Honcioiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Ghețea having to interfere. Green Eagles FC's Eric Ghețea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basarab Cotoi in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Sarighial's Mihai Honcioiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Ghețea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Green Eagles FC's zone, Basarab Cotoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Ghețea came out of the goal and Basarab Cotoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gigel Vrejiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihăiţă Papadima having to interfere. Ionică Mercea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basarab Cotoi struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Eric Ghețea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarighial. If Mihai Honcioiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihai Honcioiu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Eric Ghețea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Eric Ghețea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Cotoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corneliu Cupșa during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sarighial's Corneliu Cupșa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Mihai Honcioiu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 40th minute Basarab Cotoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Ghețea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 42 minutes, Ionică Mercea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Green Eagles FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionică Mercea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigel Vrejiu in the 46th minute of play forced Sarighial's goalkeeper Mihăiţă Papadima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 49 minutes into the match, Mihai Honcioiu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Green Eagles FC's Eric Ghețea. Eric Ghețea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gigel Vrejiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes Sarighial got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Mihaiu. Iulian Arghirescu's shot from long distance in the 59th minute was not bad at all, but Sarighial's Mihăiţă Papadima knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 63rd minute, Mihai Honcioiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mihăiţă Papadima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Vrejiu in the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihai Honcioiu in the 70th minute of play forced Green Eagles FC's goalkeeper Eric Ghețea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Green Eagles FC's zone, Basarab Cotoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Ghețea came out of the goal and Basarab Cotoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75thth minute of the game Mihai Honcioiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Green Eagles FC's Eric Ghețea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mihai Honcioiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mihai Honcioiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Mihăiţă Papadima managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Green Eagles FC's Ionică Mercea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 91st minute Gigel Vrejiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihăiţă Papadima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sarighial's Mihai Honcioiu got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Basarab Cotoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sarighial walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
