Spectators: 7504 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Panait Nicolescu started the match with the kick off. 0-1 became the score in the 3rd minute when Romeo Baldu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Ion Păuceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliodor Banciu kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Filip Macavei sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Coca's Pavel Geamănu didn't even have to move. Irinel Corvin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Baldu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 played minutes L.P.S Buzau got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Hârțan. 15 minutes into the match, Marcu Cutieru notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of L.P.S Buzau's Irinel Corvin. Irinel Corvin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Irinel Corvin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Cutieru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as L.P.S Buzau's Panait Nicolescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pavel Geamănu. That made the score 1-2 after 21 minutes of play. Romeo Baldu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pavel Geamănu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Nicolescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind L.P.S Buzau's goalkeeper Irinel Corvin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcu Cutieru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcu Cutieru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, L.P.S Buzau's goal looked a bit too open when Marcu Cutieru came free, but Irinel Corvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ion Păuceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Pavel Geamănu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Romeo Baldu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Nistor Hârțan came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the L.P.S Buzau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nistor Hârțan couldn't finish the play. Panait Nicolescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavel Geamănu having to interfere. If Romeo Baldu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Marcu Cutieru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romeo Baldu in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Irinel Corvin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute, Romeo Baldu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Irinel Corvin. The goal made the score 1-4. Marcu Cutieru was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Nistor Hârțan charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nistor Hârțan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th minute, Nistor Hârțan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Romeo Baldu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Coca booed when L.P.S Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Păsărin didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 81 in the game by Marcu Cutieru from a close distance when the talented Irinel Corvin managed to make a qualified save. L.P.S Buzau's players were relieved. Marcu Cutieru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcu Cutieru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Irinel Corvin made a huge save. In the 86thth minute of the game Romeo Baldu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but L.P.S Buzau's Irinel Corvin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 87 minutes, Cornel Văcărescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the L.P.S Buzau and the Coca players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to L.P.S Buzau getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Cornel Văcărescu hit a great ball. When Marcu Cutieru came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Coca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcu Cutieru couldn't finish the play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Coca's Romeo Baldu in the 92nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Irinel Corvin was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for L.P.S Buzau through an amazing save. Octav Leluțiu kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute of the game, Romeo Baldu landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Petru Galiceanu charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petru Galiceanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th match minute, L.P.S Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Galiceanu to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Coca eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
